[5-DayForum] Selling in this market

I just got some happy news! My husband and I were going to move because of a
job offer. My husband's boss didn't want him to leave and matched the
offer.now we can stay!

Heidi,

I think you are doing the right thing.  

The 5-Day Method works best when people know they can't get more for their
homes than they will get using the 5-Day Method.

Until then, try every other method you can think of.  And we all hope you
succeed.  If so, let us know.

I think this point is important because if you don't believe what you are
telling the potential buyers they will pick up on it and you will not get as
much as you might be able to if you truly were ready to sell the house to
the highest bidder. We decided to just stick a sign in the front yard during
the parade and ask what we paid for the house. If we don't sell it this way
then we will look at the market conditions again in our area then we will
run a 5-day sale then or rent it out and wait out the market. 

 

I hope this helps some who are considering selling but are not sure if they
are prepared to take the highest bid.
