I'm glad you saw some positives in the process.  I assume that you and  I are 
both investors willing to give this method a shot and try something out of  
the ordinary.
I must say that I disagree with your conclusion.  I believe the  method, if 
done properly works.  Of course i wasn't there, but if the  owners were not 
convincing enough to the bidders that the house would be sold to  the highest 
bidder, the potential buyers would sense that and not bring their  best offer.  
Homeowners often dont like the results in this crappy market  BUT I think, if 
done properly, the seller truly gets a snapshot of what the  house is worth 
that week.  I agree with your comment about not selling if  you dont have to.  
Sellers should stay put if at all possible until the  market gets better... 
whenever that may be.
I will likely use this method for a property that will be ready soon.   Also, 
I may give it a try with some sellers who I know need some  help.
