[5-DayForum] 5-day vs other auction options

Bill,
  I've read the book and am gearing up for a 5 day sale next month. I'm an investor and also looking at purchasing some property at an auction. The auction companines handling some of these properties will market for about a month prior to sale date, use alot of direct mail and signage and have open houses a couple of weekends prior to the sale. My question is, have you found that a longer advertising period has a negative effect or can it hurt to have a longer than 5day marketing time? As an investor I'm used to "market, market, market!", so I'm interested in knowing if this proven method has found better results with the shorter marketing time vs longer, especially in the current environment.
