Jason,
Read the book again. It is a non binding bid. The bid is only to establish
a point of negotiation. This isn't Ebay you know. Print out the rules of
the bid to show buyers. You can either accept or reject the highest bid
with no reserve required.
Hope that helps

Subject: [5-DayForum] Legal concerns about having to honor an unacceptable
Highest Bid" from a rich weasel
I am planning on starting our 5-day sale this Wednesday. However, when I
showed my wife the home flyer I created she shared some concerns. The main
concern is the statement Will be sold Sunday night to HIGHEST BIDDER. The
concern is what happens if the highest bid is way below our acceptance
level? Could we in some way be help legally accountable for the verbal offer
since we have a print add making such a claim? Could a weasel make us
legally sell our home for a very low price if he is the final highest bidder
but way below our low water mark? We live in Texas if that helps.
Thanks,
Jason
