Bill, et al, thanks so much for all your good advice and support.
First of all, Bill, the library were I work does not own a copy of
this book. I am at a community college, and we do not have a real
estate program here. However, I will certainly think about donating
our copy of the book after this process is over. I LOVE the fact
that you'll be touring libraries and giving talks about your book.
That is just too cool!

Thanks also for your advice about pacing ourselves and trying to
think like a 'salesperson.' I will do my best to do so, while still
remaining who I am. I will definitely be in touch with the forum if
we get and 'weasels' or other unpleasant types. I'm grateful for all
my friends in 5-Day Forumland.

It's 9:30pm here, and we've had a total of 40 contacts, via phone or
email. We will see what tomorrow brings on our first day of inspection.

And Bill, you will love this -- I even brought a plexiglass handout
stand home from the library for all our handouts for the inspection.
Looks real slick! We have your book prominently displayed on the
table with our handouts, so you may get a few more books sold if
folks are interested in the process.

Thanks again everyone. The house and yard are all spiffed up and
ready to go. And so are we!

Hasta manana,
Dick and Monica

Monica,

Does your library have the book? I will be speaking in libraries
throughout New York City and the surrounding area starting in
December. We will be selling books cheap at the beginning of the
lecture so that people can follow along without asking questions that
have already been answered. People can return the books for a full
refund at the end of the lecture, or they can keep them and use
them. We're asking everyone to donate them to the library after
their 5-Day Sale if they don't intend to keep them.

Try to find additional people to help you, even if they can only help
part time. Even if they're not your best friend.

You could have a lot of people in your home over this weekend. You
will be inclined to give full librarian answers as opposed to
calculated professional salesperson answers. It's going to take a
lot out of you. It will be worth it.

I would not make mention of things you plan to subsequently sell.
Dealing with all the questions can distract you from this week's
mission.

Concentrate on selling your home. Especially if you're shorthanded.

I'm sure you'll do fine. In 5-Day Sales you're better off if you're
a librarian. Just be who you are -- even if that means getting upset
when a professional salesman with a thicker skin would not. The real
buyers will trust you. They will know what they're getting into, and
will be comfortable making the highest possible bid.

Remember, few buyers have any more experience than you. They will
all outbid the low-ballers. There's nothing you have to do beyond
what you've already done.

If anyone upsets you, just hop onto this Forum. You've got lots of
friends here, even if we can't come to your home to help this weekend.
