[5-DayForum] leave furniture in 1/2 home or not?

Nancy,
It really doesn't matter. Do what's easiest for you. The real buyers
know exactly what they're looking at. All of this "home staging" stuff
is malarkey. It's for brokers trying to find excuses for why they can't
sell your home for the amount they said they could sell it for.
At the initial offering price brokers are lucky to find a single
potential buyer. They want that buyer to think your home is the best
value on the market at a ridiculously inflated price which no one else
will pay. This ploy rarely works. Then you lower the price and
somebody buys it for what it's worth. The buyer would have paid the
exact same price without any staging.
When you run a 5-Day Sale you bring in 25 to 100 buyers only three of
whom are ready willing and able to pay the current market price. They
know exactly what your home is worth -- with and without staging. This
is equally true of selling empty homes vs. homes with furniture.
Everybody's got a theory, but when push comes to shove it doesn't seem
to make any difference.
