Hi, all, just want to update you on our status. We have 24 calls and/
or emails at this point. My take is two investors, 2 realtors, and
the rest 'regular folks'. We were at 25, but the gentleman emailed
me to bow out after I explained the process to him.
This raises an interesting question ... This gentleman and his wife
did not call or email, but I assume, used a reverse directory to
locate our address. They did a drive by and THEN emailed, stating
they were very interested in the house -- they liked the look of it
and also the neighborhood in which we live. He stated they're in
their 60's, and a rembler is 'a must' (for those not from the NW, a
rambler is a one story home. I'm from Wisconny originally, and I'd
never heard this term before movving here). Anyway, they really
wanted to come and see the house and were VERY interested.
I emailed him back and said we'd love to have he and his wife come to
view our home during the open house on Sat/Sun. I also explained a
bit about the bidding process. After sending off my email response,
I said to my husband, "I think this might be one of our 'real buyers.'"
Just a little while ago, I received an email back from him. He asked
me to withdaw his name fom 'our list', as he and his wife are not
'interested in a bidding war." He said he's 'interested in buying,
not bidding." He said our type of sale was not for him and his
wife. He thanked me and signed off.
I responded saying I was sorry he felt that way. I explained that
Dick and I felt this was the most equitable way to sell our home as
an owner and that if he changed his mind, we'd love to see him during
the open house.
OK, now to my question: Did I handle this correctly? Would anyone
recommend a different response? I admit, it took the wind out of my
sils for a bit, until I received 1 phone call and two additional
emails from interested parties.
What do you all think?
25-1=24 and holding,
Monica
